Crooked Little Path 4:400:00/4:40
2025 was a blink. Recorded and released 4 EPs. Played 18 shows. Contributed to 3 comps. Ripped one pair of suit pants (after the gig). Started onboarding our darling new keyboard player. I got new job. Lost the job. Started a patreon and posted something like 50(?)! tracks over there. We also started recording a new batch of "band songs".
Not trying to create volume for the pure sake of it. I have a lot of designs on projects I want to do and decided I need to get to work on 'em before I drop dead.
Anyway. In case you missed ‘em, here’s a roundup:
CROOKED LITTLE PATH- After finishing up the last loud rock n' roll record, I wanted to explore a more somber mood. Over the past few years we've occasionally done a live configuration we affectionately call the "Gloom Trio", which is myself along with Dayna on clarinet and Chris on sax. The way the instruments weave together always felt magical to me and I wanted to capture that as well as a new song I had recently finished, "Crooked Little Path", which I think is one of my better ones. We did a short run of 13 lathe cut 7"s beautifully cut by Audio Geography.
PULL THE TRIGGER AND THE NIGHTMARE STOPS - Dipping my toes into drone, ambient, soundscaping...whatever you want to call it. We printed 5 lathe cut records. This was my gift to myself for turning 35.
THE REDEEMER - An experimental horror record about a young girl that is touched by an angel. Done in collaboration with my dear friend and CS alumni Kirk. We tried a lot of different fun ways of recording on lot of different instruments. We even recorded the dog. Check out his post rock band, Tolemn as well as his solo work.
REFLECTIONS ON TRADITION VOL 1 - played some traditional folk songs with my friend Fawn. I got to play silly country lead guitar and sing Shenandoah. We have 7" copies of this left!
Despite a lot of personal struggle (mostly self imposed, let's be real), a lot of good happened in 2025.
Thanks for all your support. See you in 2026.
February in New England has been cold, icy, and wet. Nothing like shoveling gallons of water. Despite that, we meet with our friend Jeff Bousquet at Audio Chemists to record a few live session videos. We have released two videos, including a revamped version of the song “Empty Pilot” with the Coffin Salesman Gloom Trio (Aria, Dayna Chris) and a new solo song, entitled “Crooked Little Path”.
We also have a few shows coming up this March:
3/15 @ The Rockwell in Somerville w/ Thou Merciless Graves, Your Friends in Hell, and Squallie Greenthumb. This one is going to be special, not your everyday rock show. 4 spooky bands, drag, performance art, gay mermaids, swords, giant jellyfish, 20 foot glow in the dark eel puppet…what else do you want? Tickets available here: https://therockwell.ticketspice.com/thou-merciless-graves
3/22 @ The Struggledome (house show in central MA) w/Your Friends in Hell, Jeff Bousquet. This is going to be a very special house, hosted by our friend Trev of the Struggling Artist Podcast. Send me a message if you'd like to come.
Lots more on the horizon. Catch you soon.
This website will be used for all CS related updates-shows, music, miscellany.
